Administration
Rachel Novak, Principal
Hello, Ferry Farm Families!
I am excited to join the Ferry Farm Elementary community as your new principal. It is an honor to serve this wonderful school, and I look forward to working alongside our incredible students, staff, and families to continue fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
I began my career as a Special Education teacher at Colonial Beach High School in 2009. In 2011, I transitioned to teaching 5th grade at Lafayette Elementary School, where I remained until stepping into administration as an assistant principal at Yowell Elementary in Culpeper in 2018. My journey in Stafford County Public Schools began at Widewater Elementary, where I served as an assistant principal before becoming principal of Kate Waller Barrett Elementary. Now, I am excited to continue my journey at Ferry Farm, a school with a strong tradition of academic success and community pride.
Education is not just a profession for me—it’s a passion that extends into my family life as well. My husband, Cameron, is also an educator and currently teaches high school ESOL in Prince William County. Together, we love exploring different cultures and traditions through travel, reinforcing our commitment to lifelong learning.
I firmly believe that the strongest schools are built on collaboration, trust, and a shared commitment to student success. As we embark on this new school year, I am eager to get to know each of you and to build meaningful relationships that support our students in reaching their fullest potential.
On the good days, the tough days, and every day in between: we see you, we hear you, we value you.
With gratitude,
Rachel Novak
Nina Passmore, Assistant Principal
Hello Ferry Farm Elementary community! I am thrilled to join the Eagles as your new Assistant Principal. I've been a proud member of Team Stafford for the past decade, starting as a second-grade teacher at Conway Elementary and most recently serving as the Instructional Technology Resource Teacher at Rocky Run Elementary for the last five years.
During my time at Rocky Run, I’ve had the pleasure of helping integrate technology into our classrooms to make learning more engaging. In 2021, I was honored to be named Stafford Schools’ Teacher of the Year, a recognition that means so much to me.
Before my time with Stafford Schools, I worked as an Applied Behavior Analyst Therapist, supporting students in both home and school settings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington, and I completed my Educational Leadership and Supervision endorsement at Longwood University.
I am excited to bring my passion for education and technology to Ferry Farm Elementary and to work with our wonderful students, staff, and families. Let's make this a fantastic year together!
