Dr. Alissa Fraser, Principal
My name is Alissa Fraser, and I am honored to serve as the principal here at Ferry Farm Elementary! My career began as a first-grade teacher working in Texas and Arizona, where I gained experience working with English Learners. After 4 years in the classroom and a passion for literacy development, I became a professional development facilitator for McGraw Hill in Augusta, GA, coaching teachers to implement a literacy curriculum and supporting division leaders to ensure effective literacy instruction.
I moved to Stafford in 2006 to become the reading specialist at Moncure Elementary. I then worked at Rocky Run for 10 years as an ESOL teacher, after which I moved to Stafford Schools central office as the Elementary ESOL Facilitator. From there I went on to be the Assistant Principal at Hartwood Elementary for 4 years.
I am a wife and mother of three. My children are 17, 15, and 14, and they keep me busy with their passion for lacrosse and other sports. I grew up in Michigan and pride myself on being a huge University of Michigan fan. Go Blue! When I have free time, I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with friends, and reading.
It is my privilege to lead Ferry Farm Elementary and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at “The Farm” that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community this year!
Mrs. Nina Passmore, Assistant Principal
Hello Ferry Farm Elementary community! I am thrilled to join the Eagles as your new Assistant Principal. I've been a proud member of Team Stafford for the past decade, starting as a second-grade teacher at Conway Elementary and most recently serving as the Instructional Technology Resource Teacher at Rocky Run Elementary for the last five years.
During my time at Rocky Run, I’ve had the pleasure of helping integrate technology into our classrooms to make learning more engaging. In 2021, I was honored to be named Stafford Schools’ Teacher of the Year, a recognition that means so much to me.
Before my time with Stafford Schools, I worked as an Applied Behavior Analyst Therapist, supporting students in both home and school settings. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Mary Washington, and I completed my Educational Leadership and Supervision endorsement at Longwood University.
I am excited to bring my passion for education and technology to Ferry Farm Elementary and to work with our wonderful students, staff, and families. Let's make this a fantastic year together!
